fighting Plastic pollution and Driving Circular Solutions with
DPU, Bangkok
As part of Impact Investors’ commitment to driving sustainable change, we partnered with Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Bangkok, and students from Wellington College International Bangkok for an interactive workshop under DPU’s Our River, Our Life campaign.
Our partnership with DPU focuses on tackling pollution in the Chao Phraya River through strategic content creation, investment planning, and actionable advocacy, aligning with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Workshop Highlights
Strategising for Impact (SDG 6: Clean Water & Sanitation, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities)
Through our interactive workshops, International Business and Business English students at DPU’s International College developed a funding and investment strategy for the campaign, emphasising:
-
The ecological and community impact of river pollution
-
Identifying and leveraging potential benefits of a cleaner river
-
Engaging key stakeholders and potential investors.
Content with a Purpose (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production, SDG 13: Climate Action)
Students analysed content strategy gaps, focusing on:
-
Ecological Restoration: Recognising that the Chao Phraya River has already suffered damage, students focused on solutions rather than prevention. This understanding empowered them to frame messages effectively, emphasising restoration and action
-
Awareness & Call-to-Action (CTA): Bridging the gap between storytelling and raising funds/ investments
-
Identifying Key Partners: Exploring collaborations with tourism, health, and business sectors to drive long-term impact.
Building a Collaborative Ecosystem (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals)
Participants mapped out potential partners, including:
-
Hospitals and health organisations to highlight the river’s impact on public health (SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being)
-
Local businesses and tourism operators to showcase economic incentives (SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth)
-
Influencers and changemakers to amplify awareness and engagement.
Empowering the Next Generation (SDG 4: Quality Education)
Through hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and storytelling exercises, students showcased their creativity and commitment to sustainability. The workshop equipped them with the skills and confidence to take tangible action, ensuring the campaign’s success extends beyond the classroom.
